Every once in a while someone comes along that justifies the hype and blows your mind.
GRACE SOLERO’s music possesses a certain raw energy that few artists can convincingly convey. Grace has a visceral, intense stage presence and a mercurial voice that ranges from heart-wrenching power to a reflective, sensual lyricism. Their songs are energetic and dynamic, a delicate balance of earthy and spiritual, forces of nature combined, both darkness and light. Their music is passionate, emotional, gets under your skin and refuses to leave you.
The band is currently recording their second album, due for release later this year.
Their debut album “New Moon” is a glorious sonic collision of musical influences. It includes the single “Apartheid”, playlisted by Bruce Dickinson on BBC Radio 6. Emerging like a dark pop-rock cloud with its gritty lyricism, soaring riffs and pain ridden vocals, New Moon has been critically acclaimed and championed by magazines including Classic Rock, Guitar Techniques and The Fly.
Originally a gymnast, founding member and front woman Grace Solero studied acting and contemporary dance in Rome while taking voice lessons from a German opera singer. Soon after she started playing guitar and her passionate love affair with rock music began, a love that would lead her to London in search of like-minded musicians. It was while working on the music and dance for Oscar Wilde's "Salome" at the Theatro Technis that Grace came across Californian guitarist, singer and composer Dan Beaulaurier, and an exceptional musical partnership was born. After playing a series of successful acoustic gigs together, they added bass and drums to complete their sound. With members coming from far and wide, GRACE SOLERO established London as their place of frenzied creative thinking and began to make a name for themselves on the underground music circuit.
A UK tour gave the band credible recognition and a loyal following. After being spotted by Ace, the guitarist from Skunk Anansie, the band was invited to perform with him on his radio show. Punk pioneers The Vibrators' front man and founder Knox, describes Grace as having a "world-class voice" and has recorded several tracks with her. More recently, the band has toured extensively, playing everything from intimate clubs to large stages at outdoor festivals in both Europe and the USA.
